Slumping Rockies Lose Again, 5-3
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, topping the Colorado Rockies, 5-3. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Bret Saberhagen. He played a principal role in the triumph. Kyle Farnsworth nailed down the save. The losses continue to mount for Colorado, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

Kansas City went up, 4-3, on Bobby Witt Jr.'s 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Witt Jr. hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Colorado pitcher Brian Fuentes shaking his head.

"Bret gave us a very blue collar effort," said Kansas City manager .
