Indians Rebuff Twins, 5-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins.
Cleveland Indians starter Stan Coveleski pitched effectively against the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 5-4 win. Coveleski picked up the win for Cleveland, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
The Indians got a big at-bat from center fielder Larry Doby. For the game, Doby went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Coveleski.
At 3-1, the Indians have played well so far.
