The Tampa Bay Rays welcomed the Cleveland Indians to an afternoon game at Tropicana Field.

Cleveland had no answer for 24-year old left-handed pitcher Wilson Alvarez. The Tampa Bay Rays starter stymied Indians hitters, helping the Rays cruise to victory, 7-1. With the win, the Rays have a record of 18-21.

The Rays got a big at-bat from right fielder Dave Martinez. For the game, Martinez was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Tampa Bay a 2-1 lead.

"Wilson's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Tampa Bay manager .
