The Washington Nationals got a superb performance from left fielder Juan Soto, but the Atlanta Braves still won the game, 7-6. Soto went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tom Glavine got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Craig Kimbrel zipped up his 2nd save.

Chipper Jones chipped in a 2-run home run for Atlanta in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Jones said.

The loss drops Washington to 0-4.
