Indians Drop Contest, 6-4, to Minnesota
|
The Minnesota Twins dealt the Cleveland Indians a 6-4 loss at Progressive Field. Rod Carew, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in triples with 3, was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The win lifted the Minnesota record to 19-14.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Kirby Puckett, the 28-year old left fielder . Puckett contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Minnesota up, 6-4.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Puckett.
