Dodgers Trip Nationals, 6-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Nationals Park, taking down the Washington Nationals, 6-3. Starting pitcher Don Sutton was a big reason why. Sutton yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-4. Takashi Saito picked up his 8th save of the season.
Los Angeles won the game in part because of Roy Campanella. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 4-0. For the game, Campanella had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We have a lot of confidence in Don," said Los Angeles manager .
The Dodgers now have a record of 15-20 with the win over Washington.
