Hamilton goes 4-for-5 to Light Phillies Fuse
The Texas Rangers opened their 2014 season with a disappointing 11-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Center Fielder Billy Hamilton was a big part of the win for Philadelphia. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Pete Alexander, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1.

John Kruk went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk for Philadelphia. The 32-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Dick Bosman. It was his 2nd hit of the season.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Hamilton, "and then get after it again."
