Miami Stymied by Seaver
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, Tom Seaver of the New York Mets shot down the Miami Marlins, 7-0, on 3 hits.
"Tom was just locating so well and using his pitches," New York manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Seaver recorded 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Miami manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, Seaver has 4 wins and 3 losses and a 1.93 ERA.
