It was a parade of hits for Shoeless Joe Jackson of the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.
Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Jackson finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the White Sox to a win, 9-3.
"Jackson was really good and we were really bad," groaned Rays manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
Shoeless Joe Jackson hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
