In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers, Bert Blyleven, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Twins organization, proved to be the difference. The Minnesota right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Twins win. Glen Perkins came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Tigers fall to 6-16 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2014 season.

Minnesota got a clutch hit from Joe Mauer. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
