New York Hopeless Against Dean
|
In a remarkable performance, St. Louis Cardinals starter Dizzy Dean beat the New York Mets, 6-0, in an impressive 1-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Cardinals hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," New York manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
To this point in the season, Dean shows a 4-1 record, 5 starts, 35.1 innings, 23 strikeouts and a 2.29 ERA.
