Milwaukee Helpless Against Hurst, Lose 5-0
The Milwaukee Brewers were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the San Diego Padres and hurler Bruce Hurst. Hurst kept the Brewers confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Hurst," Milwaukee manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 32-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Hurst said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

To this point in the season Hurst has 2 wins and no losses and a 1.98 ERA.
