Dan Wilson was a vital contributor to the 5-4 Seattle victory over Houston. The Mariners catcher was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Jeff Nelson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. After losing, Houston is 12-8.

The Astros had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Mariners going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old third baseman Kyle Seager came to the plate.
