Pittsburgh Pirates starter John Candelaria had all his pitches working at PNC Park. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 Pittsburgh win over the Cincinnati Reds. The loss drops the Reds to 8-11.

Willie Stargell had a big 2-run double for the Pirates in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Cueto and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pirates ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager : "We just didn't get it done tonight."
