Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets.
Atlanta Braves starter Tom Glavine turned in a sterling performance against the New York Mets, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Mark Wohlers earned save number 1.
Atlanta used a well-timed hit by Wally Berger to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Braves ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Glavine attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
The win lifts Atlanta to a record of 10-9.
