The New York Mets claimed a close win over the Atlanta Braves, due in large part to Jacob deGrom. The New York right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Skip Lockwood zipped up his 5th save. The win gives New York a record of 9-7.

In the bottom of the third, 24-year old third baseman David Wright hit a solo home run. The 4th home run of the season for the New York third baseman put the Mets on top, 2-1.

"Don't let his youth fool you," said Mets manager . "Jacob knows what he's doing out there."
