Padres Even With Yankees After Home Win
|
The San Diego Padres knotted up the Round 3 at Petco Park, thanks in large part to starter Jake Peavy. Peavy quieted the New York Yankees, enabling San Diego to grab the 4-1 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Garry Templeton, the San Diego shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-1, Padres. For the game, Templeton was 2-3 with 2 singles.
"Everything is so stressful now," Templeton said. "I was just trying not to trip on my way up to the plate."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Petco Park in San Diego.
