San Diego Tops Atlanta Again, 5-4
With starter Randy Jones leading the charge, the San Diego Padres defeated the Atlanta Braves, 5-4, in Game 2 of the Round 2. The left-hander threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball at Petco Park to help San Diego take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Dave Winfield barreled up a slider from Greg Maddux. The result was a solo home run, putting the Padres in front, 5-0.

"By the skin of our teeth, man," Winfield told the San Diego Daily News. "But hey, it still counts. A few more by the skin of our teeth is fine with me."

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Turner Field in Atlanta.
