Braves Win Round 1
|
Freddie Freeman has led his Atlanta Braves to a Round 1 victory.
Atlanta's first baseman was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 4-1 and eliminating the Pittsburgh Pirates.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series."
The club advanced to the Round 2 with a 6-3 triumph at PNC Park in the deciding game.
Freeman was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .579 average, as well as 0 home runs and 4 RBI.
The Atlanta Braves don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Milwaukee Brewers - San Diego Padres series. San Diego leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
