Indians Advance to Round 2
|
The excitement in Cleveland is palpable as the local club has advanced through the Round 1.
The Cleveland Indians downed the Oakland Athletics 6-3 tonight at O.co Coliseum, to take the series 4-2.
"Things are going to get crazy in Cleveland for the Round 2. The fans are going to be behind us 100 percent, we know that," said Jose Ramirez, who earned MVP honors.
"There's a lot of motivation in our clubhouse right now to make sure we give them something to cheer about."
For the series, Ramirez hit .381 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 8 hits, 2 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Cleveland Indians will play against the New York Yankees in the next round. New York won their series against the Seattle Mariners 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
