Hernandez, Mariners Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the Seattle Mariners put on their best show, beating the New York Yankees by a final score of 2-0. Felix Hernandez threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Seattle now leads New York 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Seattle got a clutch hit from Alex Rodriguez. The shortstop launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Hernandez said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Safeco Field in Seattle.
