Thrilling Victory Pushes Blue Jays Win Streak to 5
|
Toronto Blue Jays starter Roy Halladay was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Cleveland Indians, 4-2. Halladay, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Indians, who are now 12-5.
It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Carlos Delgado, the 27-year old first baseman . Delgado contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Toronto up, 3-2.
Delgado called the win "a pick-me-upper."
