Astros Use Late Rally to Win 5th Straight
Houston Astros starter J R Richard pitched a strong game against the Oakland Athletics at O.co Coliseum, leading the Astros to victory, 6-4. Frank DiPino earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Larry Andersen earned save number 5 this season.

Houston used the timely hitting of Craig Biggio to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Astros on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Biggio said his team "played with focus and determination."

The Athletics fall to 6-11 and continue to sputter in the early going.
