The Miami Marlins managed to get by the Colorado Rockies, 3-2, at Marlins Ballpark. Miami pitcher Kevin Brown set himself apart with his performance. Bryan Harvey, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The win puts Miami at 1-1.

Miami got a clutch hit from Mark Kotsay. The center fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
