The San Diego Padres picked up a win at AT&T Park, defeating the San Francisco Giants, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bruce Hurst was an essential part of his team's success. The Padres move to 94-65 with the win, while the Giants drop to 79-80.
The Padres beat the Giants with some clutch hitting. The single by Bip Roberts in the top of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Roberts gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"Good to pick up this win," Roberts said.
