Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs.

The St. Louis Cardinals stopped the Chicago Cubs, 10-3, at Wrigley Field. The Cardinals got a big game from Rogers Hornsby, who was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. St. Louis pitcher Dizzy Dean got the win, upping his record to 12-17. Rick Reuschel got the loss.

Johnny Mize had a big 2-run triple for the Cardinals in the top of the first inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Rick Reuschel and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 8th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Mize.

Today's win puts St. Louis at 77-81, while Chicago falls to 82-76.
