Maddux Surgical in Atlanta Win
|
Atlanta got a strong outing from Greg Maddux as the Braves defeated the New York Mets, 3-0, at Turner Field. Earning his 34th save of the year was Craig Kimbrel. Atlanta now sits at 88-67, while New York falls to 78-78.
Maddux, who was born in San Angelo, Texas, delivered a quality start for Atlanta. The 6-foot-0 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 8 innings of work.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Maddux told the Atlanta Chronicle.
