Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles, 7-1, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Boston right fielder Mike Greenwell led the way. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 triples, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Jon Lester earned the win for Boston. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 14-5.

With Boston leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Greenwell hit a curveball from Urban Shocker for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 5-1.
