The Texas Rangers rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Matt Harrison to a win, beating the Los Angeles Angels, 5-1, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The last-place Rangers now have a win-loss record of 63-91.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Mike B Young was at the plate when Texas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rangers to go in front, 1-0.
"We had trouble making good contact against Matt," said Los Angeles manager .
