The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, topping the Texas Rangers, 5-3. On the mound for Seattle was right-hander Erik Hanson. He played a principal role in the triumph. The save went to Kazuhiro Sasaki, his 5th this season. Seattle is now 11-5.
Seattle used the hitting of Julio Rodriguez to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mariners on top, 3-1. For the game, Rodriguez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Rodriguez attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
