Royals Rally Late to Nip White Sox
The Kansas City Royals scooped up a win at Kauffman Stadium, dumping the Chicago White Sox, 3-2. Kevin Appier was essential to his team's success. Jeff Montgomery snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-3 on the season. Keith Foulke suffered the loss. The second-place Royals are now 79-73, the White Sox 73-79.

Bobby Witt Jr. played the role of hero for Kansas City. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a solo home run off Keith Foulke to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was the decisive blow.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Appier told the Kansas City Today.
