The 7-4 Miami win over New York was due in large part to Jeff Conine. The Marlins first baseman was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Josh Johnson earned the save, his 3rd. At 70-81, the Marlins find themselves in 4th place in the National League Eastern Division.

Miami got a big at-bat from The United States native Giancarlo Stanton, who in the top of the first hit a 2-run double. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 3-0.

"Put this one in the bank," said Stanton afterward.
