Cubs Drop Reds, 7-1, Behind Vaughn
|
The Chicago Cubs locked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 7-1. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Hippo Vaughn. He played a major role in the triumph. The Cubs improved to 80-70.
Vaughn was in the zone all game. He frustrated Cincinnati hitters while giving the Cubs 8 innings of quality work. Vaughn threw 110 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 6 punchouts.
"This game will humble you real quick," said Cincinnati manager .
