Cubs Claim 6-3 Triumph
The Chicago Cubs topped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-3, in National League action at PNC Park. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and The United States, native Mordecai Brown. The Cubs now own a record of 79-70.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Anthony Rizzo to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Cubs ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Chicago manager called it "a darn good win."
