Miami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara pitched a good game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, leading his team to victory, 4-2. Bryan Harvey nailed down the save. The 4th-place Marlins improved to 68-80.

Miami used a clutch hit from Jeff Conine to get the win. The first baseman thumped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marlins in front, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a whopper.

"It was a real good effort by Sandy," said Miami manager . "I loved the way he bore down."
