On Road, Minnesota Drops Chicago, 4-2
|
Minnesota registered a win at U.S. Cellular Field by beating the Chicago White Sox, 4-2. Pitcher Dutch E Leonard was one reason why the Twins triumphed. Joe Nathan earned the save, his 22nd, for the Twins. Minnesota currently is in last place in the American League Central Division at 64-83.
Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Kirby Puckett to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning never gets old," said Puckett.
