Brewers Slap 4-3 Loss on Cincinnati
|
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Miller Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3. Starting pitcher Pete Vuckovich played a key role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, Vuckovich surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. The victory gives Milwaukee a record of 85-63.
In the bottom of the third, 30-year old first baseman Cecil Cooper hit a run-scoring double. The 37th double of the season for the Milwaukee first baseman put the Brewers on top, 4-3.
"Pete looked like he had more finish on his ball," said Milwaukee manager .
