Cleveland Hot Streak Continues with 4-2 Win
|
Cleveland pitcher Cliff P Lee did his part in helping his team beat the Detroit Tigers, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winning pitcher was Lee, now 15-8. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Getting the save was Rafael Betancourt, his 31st.
Rocky Colavito had a big 2-run home run for the Indians in the top of the fourth inning. With Cleveland leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Justin Verlander and swatted a home run to right. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Indians ahead, 4-1.
"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Colavito.
Cleveland has now won 7 in a row.
