The Chicago Cubs received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Clark Griffith, allowing them to shoot down the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1. In 8 innings, Griffith surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Sean Marshall earned save number 35 this season.
