New York Mets starter Jacob deGrom was on his game, helping his team beat the Colorado Rockies, 3-2. The save was Tug McGraw's, his 3rd. The last-place Rockies now sit at 52-93.

The Rockies had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Mets going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the slick-fielding center fielder Tommie Agee came to the plate. Agee hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch slider from Colorado hurler Kyle Freeland. It was Agee's 2nd home run of the year.
