Angel Stadium of Anaheim was the site of a competitive game between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels.

Los Angeles turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jered Weaver into a 4-2 triumph over the Oakland Athletics at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Ryne Duren claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Troy Percival earned the save, his 4th, for the Angels.

Los Angeles designated hitter Chili Davis helped the Angels go up, 4-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Davis hit a 2-run single off Oakland pitcher Lefty Grove.

"Jered had good arm action, good stuff," said Los Angeles manager .

The Athletics drop to 6-10.
