Red Sox Spill Orioles, 10-5
|
Boston took on Baltimore in front of a lively crowd.
The Boston Red Sox knocked off the Baltimore Orioles, 10-5, at Fenway Park. Mookie Betts was a big reason Boston won. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Dutch H Leonard earned the win, while 25-year old left-handed pitcher Dave McNally took the loss for Baltimore.
The Red Sox got a big hit from second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Facing Baltimore pitcher Dave McNally in the bottom of the fifth, Pedroia pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 13th home run of the season put the Red Sox ahead, 6-4.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Pedroia.
Their 76-68 record puts the Red Sox second in the American League Eastern Division.
