Berger Hits Two Homers in 11-3 Win for Atlanta
The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins by a score of 11-3. Atlanta left fielder Wally Berger deserved the lion's share of the credit. Berger was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Braves. Tom Glavine got the win, improving to 14-10. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The win gives Atlanta a season record of 79-63.

With Atlanta leading 2-0 in the top of the sixth, Berger came up to bat against Miami pitcher Jose Fernandez. Berger hit a curveball to left for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Braves on top, 5-0.
