Tigers Outdo Giants in Extra Innings
The Detroit Tigers overcame a big game from San Francisco designated hitter Barry Bonds to pick up a win at Comerica Tigers Park. The final score was 4-3, Detroit, in 10 innings. Bonds went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. At 68-74, the Tigers find themselves in 4th place in the American League Central Division.

The Tigers procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Sam Crawford. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said San Francisco manager . "You need to let the game come to you."
