Seattle Carves Out 3-2 Win
|
The Seattle Mariners eked out a 14-inning, 3-2 win versus the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Nobody did more than pitcher Erik Hanson. He was terrific. Michael Jackson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Robbie Ross, who is the top prospect in the Rangers organization, was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Seattle sits at 77-63, while Texas falls to 57-84.
Seattle used the timely hitting of Kyle Seager to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Mariners on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Texas manager said, following the tough loss.
