Late Offense Lifts Philadelphia to 7-5 Victory
|
No one was more impactful than Chuck Klein in the 7-5 Philadelphia win over Washington. Klein went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Erskine Mayer sewed up the save, his 38th. The Phillies improved their record to 76-64 by beating Washington.
Klein had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-0 sinker from Tim Burke, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Phillies a 7-5 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Klein.
"I was making good contact tonight," said Klein.
