Los Angeles and Minnesota scratched and clawed until someone claimed the prize.

Pitching was the name of the game for the Los Angeles Angels and the Minnesota Twins. Los Angeles won it, 1-0, in 11 innings. Los Angeles starter Frank Tanana was in command. Jordan Walden, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Chone Figgins to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Angels on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We scratched and clawed," said Tanana. "But we got the job done."

With the victory, the Angels record stands at 59-81.
