Cardinals Stumble, Lose 6-4 to Brewers
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 6-4. Milwaukee third baseman Paul Molitor deserved the lion's share of the credit. Molitor went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Brewers. With the win, Milwaukee has a record of 80-60. St. Louis falls to 69-71.
Sixto Lezcano drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Milwaukee. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lezcano had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Louis hurler John Tudor, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Brewers a 4-3 lead.
"Good, gritty kind of win," said Brewers manager .
