Nationals Get Nifty 2-1 Win
|
Washington Nationals starter Bill Gullickson led his team to victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 2-1. The right-hander was locked-in. Gullickson picked up the win for Washington, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-13. The third-place Dodgers now sit at 69-70.
Washington took the lead, 2-1, on Andre Dawson's 23rd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Clayton Kershaw in the top of the eighth.
Dawson told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
