Baltimore Tacks 7-3 Loss on Cincinnati
|
Oriole Park at Camden Yards was the site for American League action featuring the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles.
Getting offensive support from Eddie Murray, the Baltimore Orioles topped the Cincinnati Reds, 7-3. Murray went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Orioles. The winning pitcher was Urban Shocker. He tossed 105 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Stu Miller closed it out for his 22nd save.
Baltimore grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Murray hit a grand slam home run off Mario Soto. His 24th home run of the season put the Orioles out in front, 7-3.
"No complaints from me," said Orioles manager . "I like what I saw out there."
Baltimore, at 58-80, sits in last place in the American League Eastern Division.
